Information dissemination strategies in rural development authorities in Bayelsa State.

Abstract

Information is very important in any society which is a veritable tool in the realization of individual, corporate and societal objectives or goal. Information needs, accessibility, utilization is being dictated by circumstance man finds himself. The channels of information communication are interpersonal man to man through signals, signs, beckoning, language, contact, town criers and most especially in the primitive days and in village, it is clear to note that, there are some information dissemination strategies which includes training program, sermon, publication/journal, correspondence courses, audio visual material etc. and the channels by which this information is disseminated are through Radio, newsletter, ooks. Newspapers, video cassettes/discs, teletext, video text, television etc. It is vital to observe that, information dissemination is important to the society, policy makers, to researcher, and increase the knowledge base issue of an individual. Lastly, information dissemination strategies involve many challenges which include financial constraints, power failure, insecurity in the point of information officer, urban centeredness and poor recognition of talents and professional.
