Abstract

Fibrous dysplasia (FD) of the clivus, first described by Lichtenstein in 1938, is a very rare developmental, nonhereditary disorder caused by abnormal proliferation and maturation of fibroblasts resulting in replacement of mature bone by weak and immature bone.
