An Investigation into factors influencing the choice of business education in two tertiary institutions in Nigeria

Abstract

This study examines critically the factors that influence the choice of Business Education in tertiary institutions with specific reference to University of Lagos and Federal College of Education, Abeokuta, Ogun State. For the study, a questionnaire was designed and distributed to100 students in University of Lagos and 75 Federal College of Education, Abeokuta, Abeokuta. Students. Three hypotheses were tested for the study. After the analysis of the data collected, the following findings were made. There was significant difference between male and female career influencing factors. There was no significant difference regarding the influence exercised by parent in the students' choice of Business Education. There is significant difference between male and female in the influence exerted by external factors in their choice of business education.
