Locus of Control of Health Beliefs Among Undergraduate Stimulants Users and Non-Users

Abstract



The Locus of Control of Health beliefs of undergraduate stimulants users and non-users was examined in this study. A sample of 1200 students was drawn from the Universities of Benin, Edo State and Delta State. The-main instrument used to generate data for the study was the Wallston, Wallston\" and Devellis (1978) Multidimensional
Health Locus of Control Scale (MHLC). The results showed that there is no significant difference between the Health locus of control of beliefs of stimulants users and non-users at 0.05 probability level. Stimulants users were found to be externalisers who subscribe to chance and powerful others Health Locus of Control beliefs.
