Abstract

This retrospective study was carried out on 200 women attending their first immunization clinic after delivery having attended private health facilities for antenatal care. The age range of respondents was 15 – 45 years and about 15% of the respondents were teenagers. Sixty four percent of the respondents were satisfied with the service provided by the Private health facilities and about 73 of the respondents never had a single laboratory test during the pregnancy period despite attending antenatal clinics. Seventy six percent of respondents delivered in the hospital while about 16% delivered at home and about 9% delivered at mission (Faith) home. This study showed serious deficiencies in the quality of support service of health delivery and urgent steps are needed by the supervision agencies to address the issues.
