Abstract

Contribution to the study of the immobilization of lead ions from aqueous solution by adsorption on natural phosphate

The aim of this work is to study to the fixation of lead ions (Pb2+) in aqueous solution by adsorption on natural phosphate (NP). Batch tests were conducted to study the effect of the mass of phosphate, pH, contact time and temperature. Ultimate adsorption capacity for a concentration CPb 2+ = 50 mg.L-1 and a mass of phosphate 4 g.L-1 at pH between 5 to 6, for 60 minutes of contact and at a temperature of 25 °C, is Qe = 12.50 mg.g-1. The kinetic model of pseudo-second-order is the best in the description of the evolution of removing lead ions at different temperatures (25, 35 and 45 °C). According to the thermodynamic parameters (H°, G° and S°) it is shown that the binding of Pb2+ by PN is an exothermic and spontaneous process.
