Abstract

Uncorrected Tetralogy of Fallot is associated with polycythaemia and thrombo-embolism. Ischaemia from thrombotic occlusion of vessels supplying major organs may occur. The case is presented of a 17 year old boy with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) who developed acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and cerebral infarction having defaulted from clinic attendance. The importance of regular follow up of patients with uncorrected TOF and the difficulties of managing this patient are highlighted.
