Contemporary Nigerian Art: From the 1920s to 2000

Abstract

This paper discusses the evolutionary trends in contemporary Nigerian art, examining the philosophy, major actors, and activities emerging from these creative enterprises. Various emergent art institutions, ethnocentric groups and styles with current development and utility are underscored. This forms documentary evidence, which brings to limelight the contemporariness of Nigerian art.
