The study concluded that correctional centers’ management affected control of criminality in Enugu State. The underlying principle of modern correctional centers (prisons) system therefore, is to improve, rehabilitate, deter the offender and others, and prepare them to play a fit and proper part in society once released. The study recommended among others that Prison-based rehabilitation programmes are most effective when they are based on a full diagnostic and individual assessment of the offender and his or her situation. Such an assessment needs to occur as soon as possible after the offender’s admission to the CC and, if at all possible, serve as the basis for a comprehensive and individualized intervention plan.
