Abstract

IBD, which includes Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, is a rapidly growing global healthcare issue. The critical part that diet and nutrition play in preventing IBD is examined in this article. IBD is becoming more common, which points to environmental influences, with nutrition being a key suspect. IBD pathogenesis is greatly influenced by the complex interactions between food, the gut microbiota, and the immune system. This review includes the most recent research on the impact of dietary elements, including as fibre, lipids, and certain nutrients, on the occurrence and treatment of IBD. For the prevention of IBD, it outlines possible dietary therapies, such as Exclusive Enteral Nutrition (EEN). This review attempts to synthesise these findings and offer insights into prospective dietary recommendations for people at risk of developing IBD or who have been diagnosed with it, with a focus on personalised nutrition.
