<b>Carcinome épidermoïde de la tête du pancréas</b> : une observation inhabituelle Epidermoide carcinoma of the head of pancreas: an unsual case report

Abstract

Epidermoid carcinoma of the pancreas is an extremely rare histological type. We report the case of a 62-year-old patient who has had epigastric pain and posterior irradiation for 2 months. Thoracoabdomino-pelvic CT scan has showed tissue process on the pancreatic incus. Surgical specimens were submitted to a histopathological examination which revealed a well-differentiated and mature invasive epidermoid carcinoma of the pancreas tumor classified as stage pT3N1. After surgical procedure (cephalic duodenopancreatectomy), the evolution was favorable. Hereby, we review literature and discuss various aspects of epidermoid carcinoma of the pancreas including epidemiology, pathogeny, diagnosis, treatment and survival.

Le carcinome épidermoïde du pancréas est un type histologique extrêmement rare. Nous rapportons le cas d’une patiente de 62 ans qui présente depuis 2 mois des douleurs épigastriques à irradiation postérieure. La tomodensitométrie thoracoabdomino-pelvienne a mis en évidence un processus tissulaire au niveau de l’incus du pancréas. L’examen anatomopathologique de la pièce opératoire a trouvé́ un carcinome épidermoïde bien différencié et mature infiltrant du pancréas, tumeur classée stade pT3N1. Sous traitement chirurgical (duodénopancréatectomie céphalique), l’évolution a été favorable. Nous discutons ici le carcinome épidermoide du pancréas en reprenant les données de la littérature sur l’épidemiologie, la pathogénie, le diagnostic, le traitement et la survie.
