Multidisciplinary Approach To Patients\' Management
Abstract
Multidisciplinary approach to patients' management has been found to be important in modern medicine. It involves the collaboration of a number of specialists in the management of a particular patient. It has been found to be cost-effective, more comprehensive and offers the patient the services of a wide range of specialists. This results in an integrated and coordinated patient management, with early realization of treatment goals. An effective methodology for this approach is examined and examples of the utilization and lack of utilization of this team approach are discussed. The need for specialization and sub-specialization for effective patient management is stressed.
