AL Okute, CC Chukwurah

Abstract

Quality has been a controversial issue in education generally and Business Education in particular. Business Education is aimed at equipping the recipients with the relevant knowledge, skills, attitude and values that will enable them function effectively as citizens. The quality of Business Teachers is paramount to the attainment of the goal of Business Education, which is derived from the national goal and philosophy of education. This is most desirable in this era of Information and Communication Technology with its global impact on every sphere of life. Higher Education is the key to developing high quality knowledge in specialized fields for technological advancement. In this paper, we examined the criteria for quality assurance vis-à-vis success factors and values that facilitate attainment of national development, using education as a tool. We recommend continuous and sustained capacity building, ethical reorientation among stakeholders, increased budgetary allocation and provision of functional equipment and facilities for business education.
