Influence of organizational culture and justice on employee job performance among private organizations in Makurdi metropolis

Abstract

The study investigated influence of organizational culture and justice on employee Job performance among private organization in Makurdi metropolis. A cross-sectional design was used for data collection in the study. Data were collected using Employee Job Performance Scale (EJPS), Organizational Culture Scale (OCS) and Organizational Justice Scale (OJS). One hundred and eighty eight participants comprising of 113(60.1%) males and 75(39.9%) females were drawn from various private organizations in Makurdi using convenient sampling. The data collected was analyzed using linear regression and mean and standard deviation. The results revealed a significant influence of organizational culture on employee performance among private organizations in Makurdi metropolis and a significant influence of organizational justice on employee performance. Furthermore, the result showed a joint influence of organizational culture and justice on employee performance among private organizations in Makurdi metropolis. It was concluded that, organizational culture and justice both have a significant impact on employee performance. It was therefore recommended, private organizations should imbibe the habit of creating favorable organizational culture and justice to increase employee performance. Also organizations, be it private or public should always have organizational cultures that will enhance employee performance. Furthermore organizations, be it private or public should always create a frame work of organizational justice that will enhance employee performance.
