Abstract

The study investigated the influence of sexuality education on the behavioural disposition of Nigerian adolescents and its implications for counselling. The study employed a descriptive survey design. The participants included two hundred adolescents randomly selected from ten secondary schools in Lagos State. Three null hypotheses were stated for analysis at 0.05 level margin of error. A self-designed instrument tagged “Adolescents' Sexuality Behavioural Scale (ASBS) was used for the data collection. The findings revealed that there were no statistical significant differences in the influence of sexuality education on adolescents' behavioural disposition based on gender (1.960>1.069); age difference (1.960>1.259) and type of family background (1.960>0.546). Based on the findings, implications were drawn for counselling, recommendations were made and conclusion drawn.
