Peer Review

The Editorial Office checks the manuscript submitted to the Journal for spelling and grammatical errors, similarity index and conformity with the ‘guide to authors for manuscript preparation’ before undergoing the blind review process.  Also, the Office ensures the article falls within the aims and scope of the Journal before it would be considered for publication in the Journal.  Manuscript badly prepared i.e. full of grammatical and spelling errors, nonconformity with the manuscript format, and above 20% similarity index are rejected outrightly at this stage.  The Co-Editor-in-Chief selects and appoints from among the pool of experts in the relevant field of the research reported in the manuscript two experts as reviewers for the article.  The successful manuscript is forwarded to the two reviewers for double-blind peer review.  Guided by the ‘notes to reviewers’, the reviewers have four weeks to carry out the assignment.  The Editorial Board considers the outcome of the peer review and subsequently decides on the outright acceptance of the article for publication or acceptance for publication after minor revision to the manuscript, or outright rejection if a major revision to the paper is required or if unsuitable for publication.  The revised manuscript is re-considered by the Editorial Board for publication after it has ascertained that the suggested corrections had been made by the author in the revised version, or that if the author had satisfactorily answered all queries raised by the reviewers.  The author gets a notification of the decision of the Editorial Board on the acceptance or rejection of the article for publication in the Journal.  The Editorial Office sends the galley proof of all articles accepted for publication to the authors for proofreading before publishing.
