Abstract

This study examined the impact of the Credit Scheme of Community Banks on transport operation in Ogbomoso zone of Oyo State. It aims specifically at evaluating the production efficiency of transporters participating in the credit scheme vis-à-vis a group of non-participants. The orientation of the study was guided by a hypothesis that, there is no significant difference between the production efficiency of borrower transporters and non-transporters.
The result of this study shows that credit has enhanced the resource base and gross output value of borrowers. The coefficient of materials/operating inputs is not significant and has negative signs in the linear and semi-log functions.
