Traumatisme du rachis cervical et dorso-lombaire aspects lesionnels et therapeutiques au Chu-Tokoin

Abstract

This retrospective study carrying on three years periods was designed to specify the epidemiology and treatment aspects of the traumatism of the cervical and thoraco-lumbar spine received in Tokoin teaching hospital. On 140 patients received for traumatism of the cervical and thoraco-lumbar spine, 32 patients were excluded from this study. The male prevalence was clear. The average age of the patients was 34 years old. The traffic accident was the main cause. The lesions prevailed on the level of the cervical spine. In 64,44%, the patients were neurological. The treatment was orthopaedic or chirurgical. The traumatisms of the cervical and thoraco-lumbar spine remain frequent and serious

Cette étude rétrospective portant sur une période de trois ans a pour but de préciser les aspects lésionnels et thérapeutiques des traumatismes du rachis cervical et dorsolombaire reçus au CHU Tokoin de Lomé. Sur 140 patients reçus pour traumatisme du rachis cervical et dorsolombaire, 32 dossiers ont été exclus de cette étude.
La prédominance masculine a été nette ; l’âge moyen des patients était de 34 ans. Les accidents de circulation ont été la principale étiologie. Les lésions ont prédominé au niveau du rachis cervical. Dans
69,44% les patients étaient neurologiques. Le traitement a été orthopédique ou chirurgical. Les traumatismes du rachis cervical et dorsolombaire restent fréquents et graves. Leur prise en charge
efficace doit passer par l’amélioration des conditions de ramassage et du transport des patients et du plateau technique.
