Knowledge sharing and job performance of lecturers in social and management sciences in selected universities in Ogun State

Abstract

This study investigated knowledge sharing and job performance of lecturers in social and management ciences in five (5) universities in Ogun State. Descriptive survey research design was adopted. The total population of study is 167, total enumeration sampling method was used. Data was collected using questionnaire and a total 142 copies of the questionnaire distributed were returned and found usable. Findings showed that the level of knowledge sharing among lecturers in social and management science in selected universities surveyed is high, in addition, the finding reveals that the level of job performance of lecturers in the three universities surveyed was high and knowledge sharing significantly influence job performance of lecturers in Social and Management Sciences. The study recommended that universities management surveyed should try as much as possible to encourage sharing and discourage hoarding of knowledge, by motivating lecturers, giving the incentives so that more knowledge could be shared among the lecturers to improve their job performance.
