Abstract

Engenas Senona has a background in economics and has been active in the sphere of social protection for the past 12 years, focusing on social grants and Early Childhood Development. He was previously employed by the Department of Social Development and international agencies including the United Nations World Food Programme, Save the Children (South Africa) and UNICEF. He is an independent research consultant and the author of the report, Basic Income Support: A Case for South Africa, which was published by the Black Sash in July 2020.
