Keeping the peace between Ethiopia and Eritrea: reflections on the role of the UN and other role-players

Abstract

Unlike most major conflicts in contemporary Africa, the Ethiopian-Eritrean conflict is inter-state in its nature. Lasting peace will only prevail if both parties embrace the work of outside agencies and independent commissions.
