A Mn(II) coordination compound incorporating 1,10-phenanthroline derivative: Synthesis, characterization, and Hirshfeld surface analysis
Abstract
Through hydrothermal synthesis employing mixed ligands, we obtained a new Mn(II)-based coordination compound, namely [Mn(L)2(glu)] (1), (H2glu = glutaric acid, L = 2-(biphenyl-4-yl)-1H-imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]phenanthroline). The Mn(II) ion is six-coordinated by four nitrogen atoms from two L ligands and two oxygen atoms from one glu2− anion in a slightly twisted [MnN4O2] octahedral geometry. The adjacent molecules are formed into a two-dimensional supramolecular structure through N–H∙∙∙O hydrogen bonds. Compound 1 was comprehensively characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and Hirshfeld surface analysis.
