Neuroprotective potential of secondary metabolites from Trichoderma koningiopsis YN-G-1, an endophytic fungus of the endangered plant Taxus yunnanensis
Abstract
Endophytic fungi in endangered plants produce bioactive metabolites with neuroprotective potential. In this study, eight secondary metabolites were isolated from Trichoderma koningiopsis YN-G-1 (endophyte of Taxus yunnanensis) using ethyl acetate extraction and chromatographic fractionation. Structures were elucidated by NMR spectroscopy and corroborated with literature data. Activity screening demonstrated that trichodermaketone C (4) effectively inhibits AChE (IC50 = 4.3 μM), PI3K (IC50 = 0.15 μM), and PDE1 (IC50 = 56.5 μM), suggesting multi-target neuroprotective effects. This work expands the chemical diversity of T. koningiopsis and highlights its promise for neurodegenerative drug discovery.
