The Extent of AI Applications and Their Contribution to Improving Operational Efficiency and Reducing Costs: A Case Study of Akakus Oil Operations Company, Tripoli, Libya

Abstract

This study aimed to explore ways to enhance efficiency and reduce costs through the application of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. A field study was conducted on Akakus Oil Operations, a company affiliated with the National Oil Corporation (NOC) – Libya. The study population consisted of 130 employees, of which a simple random sample of 97 participants was selected. Data was analyzed using SPSS software, version (27). The study yielded several significant findings, most notably that AI applications play an effective role in improving operational efficiency and reducing costs in the oil and gas sector. Moreover, the effective implementation of these technologies can lead to tangible economic and environmental benefits. The study recommended the adoption of AI technologies in real work environments, along with ongoing monitoring and evaluation of their impact, in a manner that contributes to the long-term sustainability of the industry.
