The Impact of Electronic Banking Tools (“Edfa‘ Li”) on the Profitability of the Bank of Commerce and Development: A Comparative Analytical Study for the Period (2011–2021)
Abstract
This study aims to assess the average revenue generated by electronic banking tools at the Bank of Commerce and Development in Libya between 2016 and 2021. To achieve this, financial statements were analyzed and compared to data from the five years prior to the implementation of these tools. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was applied for data analysis.
The results indicate that electronic banking tools have had a significant positive impact on the bank’s profitability. Statistically significant differences were found in net income and asset growth, demonstrating improvements following the adoption of these tools.
Despite these positive outcomes, the study encountered several challenges, including a lack of existing academic research on Libyan commercial banks in this area and limited access to bank officials. These findings underscore the critical role of customer satisfaction in enhancing bank performance and highlight the need for further studies and surveys to better understand customer prospects and improve service quality.
