Distribution and diagnosis of newly recorded pest Aleurothrixus floccosus (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) infesting citrus trees in Egypt

Abstract

The wooly whitefly Aleurothrixus floccosus (Maskell) (Hemiptera; Aleyrodidae) has recently become widely distributed across various locations in Egypt. This scientific note documents the geographical distribution of this serious whitefly pest in the country and provides a diagnostic description. The study records the presence of the pest in four Egyptian Governorates for the first time.
