Data protection legislation for Nigeria: the time is near

Abstract

In recognition of the significance of data protection of the individual, it is evident that Nigeria does not have adequate data protection legislation and privacy laws to cater for data protection and address the emerging issue of identity theft. This paper therefore, recommends Data Protection Legislation as is obtainable in the rest of the world, stressing the benefits that abound.
