Abstract

The decline in biodiversity is generating a global concern and Nigeria is not left out either. As a developing country it depends on biological resources for survival and every effort should be channeled towards its conservation. This paper therefore highlighted the need to conserve forest biodiversity in rorder to check its extinction. Community participation is viewed as the most viable option for conserving forest biodiversity in Nigeria. Some of the agroforestry systems, which are community and individual-oriented for achieving this are highlighted.
