AbstractThe anti-inflammatory properties of the root bark of Alstonia boonei, De wild (Apocynaceae) was studied using egg white-induced rat hind paw oedema as a model of acute inflammation. The alcoholic extract showed a significant protection of the paw against the induced inflammation. The result justified its use in herbal medicine for the treatment of rheumatic and breast pains.
