LENAF through its journal African Journal Of Tropical Entomology Research ( AJTER ) publishes articles in open access under a Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License. With Creative Commons licenses, the author retains copyright and the public is allowed to reuse the content. The author(s) or their institution grants LENAF a license to publish the article and identify it as the original publisher. If the article is accepted for publication in the next AJTER Issue, the author will be asked to complete and sign a License and Copyright Agreement form for publicationCC BY-NC 4.0 and pay the Article Publication Fee (APC) and the article will be corrected immediately and will soon be available free online for anyone to read, download and share.

- RETAINED RIGHTS
The author(s) or, if applicable, the author's employer, retains all proprietary rights in addition to copyright, such as patent rights in any process, procedure, or article of manufacture described in the manuscript.
- LICENSE

- MANUSCRIPTS BELONGING TO THE EMPLOYER
If the manuscript was written by the author in the course of his employment as a "commissioned work" and the employer owns the copyright in the work, the employing company/institution agrees to the terms of use defined in paragraph A above and must sign this agreement (in addition to the author) in the space provided below. In this case, the company/institution hereby grants to AJTER, for the duration of the copyright, an exclusive license of all copyrights in the work worldwide for commercial purposes, as indicated in paragraph C above.
- GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS
In the case of a manuscript prepared under a U.S. Government contract or grant, the U.S. Government may reproduce, without charge, all or part of the work and may authorize others to do so, only to official U.S. government purposes, if required by the U.S. government contract or award. - COPYRIGHT NOTICE

- AUTHOR'S STATEMENTS
The author states that:
- (i) the author and all co-authors have full power, authority and capacity to enter into this Agreement, to grant the rights and license granted by this Agreement and to perform all obligations enforced by this Agreement;
- (ii) neither the primary author nor any co-author has granted exclusive rights or transferred its copyright in any version of the manuscript to any third party;
- (iii) the manuscript is the original work of the author, all individuals identified as contributors have actually carried over to the writing of the manuscript, and all persons who have carried over are included;
- (iv) if the manuscript was prepared jointly, the author has informed the co-authors of the terms of this agreement and has obtained their written and signed authorization by this agreement on their behalf and as their agent;
- (v) the manuscript is submitted only to AJTER and has not been previously published, has not been included in another manuscript, and is not under review or accepted for publication elsewhere;
- (vi) if excerpts from copyrighted works of third parties are included, the author must obtain written permission from the copyright holders for all uses as set forth in the copyright form. standard release and in the Guidelines for Authors of the journal, and must justify the sources in the manuscript;
- (vii) the manuscript and any additional information submitted does not contain any defamatory statements or claims (including but not limited to copyright, patent or trademark rights) or privacy of another, violate any obligation of confidentiality, does not violate any contract or law, and does not contain material or instructions likely to cause damage or injury, and uses only data obtained in accordance with applicable legal requirements and journal policies; and
- (viii) there are no conflicts of interest related to the article, except as disclosed.
Accordingly, the author declares that the following information will be clearly disseminated on the title page of the manuscript:
- (1) all financial and material support for research and work;

Harvesting modalities and periods of edible caterpillars in the Republic of the Congo
Abstract
Cette étude s'inscrit dans le cadre de la valorisation des produits locaux afin de lutter contre l'insécurité alimentaire. Son objectif est d'inventorier les différentes techniques de récolte des chenilles comestibles au Congo, de déterminer les différentes périodes de récolte et les types de personnes impliquées dans cette récolte. Des missions de terrain prenant en compte le calendrier des cycles probables des lépidoptères dans les différents départements ont été réalisées dans les écosystèmes forestiers et de savane congolais. Cette étude a montré que la méthode la plus courante de récolte des chenilles est le ramassage, suivi du secouage des branches des plantes hôtes par les grimpeurs. Cette activité n'est pas spécifique au genre, et est pratiquée aussi bien par les jeunes que par les vieux. Le moment de la récolte des chenilles varie d'un écosystème à l'autre et même entre les hémisphères. L'élagage, l'abattage des plantes hôtes, la récolte des chrysalides enfouies dans le sol après la saison, les feux de brousse sont autant de facteurs qui contribuent à la diminution des chenilles comestibles, voire à la disparition de certaines espèces. L'augmentation de leur production nécessite des programmes d'agroforesterie tels que la conservation et le reboisement des espèces forestières dont les chenilles se nourrissent, ainsi que l'élevage des chenilles.
