Abstract

In this study, we determined the potency of a combination of pedagogies and strategies for bilingual and bicultural education, including dramatization (demonstration method) as necessary ingredients for inclusive education in Nigeria. The study lasted four weeks and involved Primary five pupils aged 10 – 14 years. We found that Deaf and Hard of hearing learners who were exposed to instructional methods and strategies in the American Sign Language/English bilingual methods and dramatization performed exceptionally better than those taught using the Total Communication approach.
