Abstract

This paper reports the findings of a statistical assessment of some factors affecting computer application in information resource sharing. Secondary and primary data were employed in this study. Quota and random sampling were used to administer questionnaires using Interviewer -administered methodology of data collection. A combination of percentage distribution, simple and multiple regression analysis was used to establish the relationship between computer application in information source sharing and the selected factors affec ting performance. The result showed that while funding, staffing, telecommunication services, power supply and library managers’ self -will factors have significant relationship with computer application in information resource sharing, the relationship between staff motivation and computer application in information resource sharing was statistically insignificant. The paper concludes that poor funding, lack of adequate number of relevant skilled staff, inadequate telecommunication services and power supp ly, and the lack of zeal and commitment on the part of the Library Manager are responsible for the very low level of computer application in information resource sharing in Nigeria.
