Environmental education in the 21st century: Artificial intelligence imperativeness

Abstract

Man interacts in his both physical and social environment. The issue of environment could be termed to be a double edged sword in the sense that man influences the environment; likewise environment influences the man in return. The rate at which environment influences man (i.e. human being) in this 21^st century is at an alarming rate because of the activities of man on the environment such as too much deforestation, leading to depletion of the ozone layer thereby causing intensive heat. The paper examined environmental education in the 21^st century with emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI). Environmental education is a process that empowers individuals to explore environmental issues, develop problem-solving skills, and take action to improve the environment and promote sustainability. The paper therefore recommends among others that environmental education should be so taken seriously and that Artificial intelligence should fill the gap where necessary between man and the environment.
