Impact of conscientiousness and agreeableness on marital stability among married people in Ikono Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State
Abstract
The study investigated the impact of conscientiousness and agreeableness on marital stability among married people in Ikono Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State. Two research questions and corresponding null hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. The study adopted descriptive survey design. A total of 225 respondents were selected for the study through simple random sampling technique. The null hypotheses formulated were tested using independent t-test statistics. The results revealed that conscientiousness and agreeableness significantly impacted on marital stability among married people in Ikono Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State. It was recommended that counsellors should sensitize married people of the need to appreciate and cooperate with their partners.
