Abstract

Massimo Maggiari’s first collection of poems is entitled Terre lontane / Lands Away (Campanotto, 1999) with an introduction by Giuliano Manacorda and afterword by Giuseppe Conte (Italo Alghiero Chiusano Award, Frascati 1999). His poems were published in Austria in The Poet’s Voice, in South Africa in Italian Studies in South Africa, in the United States in Chelsea, The Paterson Review, in Italy in Colophon e Fare anima and in the festival proceedings “Le acque di Ermes / The Water of Hermes”. For the project Poetry in the World (Guanda, 2001) he translated Egyptian and Finnish poets. He edited the English translation of a selection of Leonardo Sinisgalli’s poems.
