Abstract

Seven poultry manure concentrations of 0.05, 0.75, 1.00, 1.25, 1.50, 1.75 and 2.00 gl-1 were filtered into duckweed (Lemnaceae) culture tanks for the culture of Moina (Cladocera) and Cyclops (Copepoda). The duckweeds were allowed to grow and completely cover the surface of the culture tank. The same concentration of poultry manure was filtered into the tanks every other day for eight weeks. Tanks with 1.25 gl-1 poultry manure concentration gave the best yield of 562 individuals.ml-1 comprising of 315 Moina and 247 Cyclops with a mean weekly yield of 70 individuals.ml-1.
