Influence of Physics Concepts on Electronics/Electrical Industries in Nigeria

Abstract

This study focused on the influence of physics concepts on electronics/electrical industries in Nigeria. A structured questionnaire was administered to 106 randomly selected respondents. Data were analyzed using frequencies, percentage, mean and standard deviations. Findings of the reveal that electromagnetism as a principle in physics has an overall mean of 2.06, electricity (mean= 2.12), electronics (mean= 2.08), mechanics (mean=2.00), nuclear and atomic physics (mean = 2.00).Based on the findings of the study, the following recommendations were made: schools should collaborate with industries in order for teaching and learning of entrepreneurial courses to be industry- oriented. Entrepreneurship and development agencies existing on campus, especially the ones directly involved with entrepreneurship (e.g. SIFE, ECO CLUB, LEAP AFRICA) should be encouraged to carry out more awareness campaign extended to lecturers so that their activities and benefits can impact such as they are interacting with students.
