Abstract

The skill acquisition centres in Cross River State seem to lack work skill training modules on bee farming. This study developed and validated work-skill training modules on bee farming for training secondary school graduates in Cross River State skill acquisition centres. The study adopted Research and Development (R & D) design gathered research findings and develop the work-skill training module. Six specific purposes guided the study. The population of the study was 69 comprised of 38 animal science lecturers and 31 registered bee farmers; and they were all used as the sample for the study. The data collection instrument was questionnaire, validated by 3 experts and tested for reliability using Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient to determine internal consistency of the items. Mean was also used to answer the research questions, while standard deviation was used to test the closeness of the responses to the mean. Findings revealed objectives of the modules, contents of the module, training materials, instructional methods, and evaluation techniques identified by the study. It was recommended that government of Cross River State and skill trainers should enforce the use of the module for training in state skill acquisition centres.
