Peer Review

  1. Submission: Researchers submit their manuscripts to the journal, through an online submission system or email address provided in the journal’s website.
  2. Editorial Review: Upon submission, the journal's editorial team reviews the manuscript to ensure it meets the basic criteria of the journal. This includes checking for proper formatting, adherence to the journal's scope, and ethical considerations.
  3. Assignment to Reviewers: If the manuscript passes the editorial review, it is assigned to experts in the field for peer review. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise and experience in the subject matter of the manuscript.
  4. Peer Review: Reviewers carefully evaluate the manuscript's quality, originality, methodology, significance, and validity of results. They provide constructive feedback on strengths, weaknesses, and potential improvements. Peer review in AJEST is conducted under a double-blind and sometimes single-blind process, where either the identities of both the authors and reviewers are concealed, or only the authors' identities are concealed, respectively.
  5. Review Reports: Reviewers provide detailed reports to the journal editor, outlining their assessment of the manuscript. They may recommend acceptance, minor or major revisions, or rejection based on their evaluation.
  6. Author Revisions: If revisions are required, the authors address the reviewers' comments and suggestions, making necessary changes to the manuscript.
  7. Final Decision: Once the authors make the necessary revisions, the revised manuscript is reevaluated by the editor. If the changes are satisfactory, the manuscript is accepted for publication.
  8. Publication: Accepted manuscripts are formatted, proofread, and published in the journal's upcoming issue.
