Author Guidelines
- Any article sent to this journal must not be sent to any other journal.
- No payment for publication in this Journal
- Plagiarism of more than 25% will not be accepted
- All articles shall go through double blind peer review process.
- Abstract, not more than 300 words with 3-5 keywords
- Empirical research 5500 words maximum
- Review research 7000 words maximum
- Tables and figures should be properly numbered and inserted appropriately in the text.
- All papers must be typed in Times New Roman with font size 12 and double line spacing
- Galley proof will be sent to authors for verification before publication.
IJMGS Article Format
All articles submitted to IJMGS for peer review, shall comply with the following format:
- First names of authors must be listed before their surname (last name); and all author’s.
- Institutional affiliation must also be listed.
- All authors are required to state their ORCID ID
- The corresponding author must be indicated including his/her email and phone number
- Block abstracts in italics (300 words); keywords,3-5 words
- Introduction
- Objective(s)
- Materials and Methods
- Results
- Discussion
- Conclusion
- Recommendation
- Acknowledgements (as appropriate)
- Conflict of Interest (if necessary)
- Referencing (APA 7th edition)
Submission of Manuscripts
All manuscripts for publication shall be submitted by the corresponding author through the official email of the journal: ijmgs@noun.edu.ng
- Acceptance letter and Authorship Declaration form will be issued to authors after making the necessary corrections from the Reviewers.
- Once acceptance letter is issued, the order of authorship cannot be changed and no new authors can be included.
Conflict of Interest Declaration
Authors are required to declare conflicts of interest, if any.
Peer Review
All articles shall go through double blind peer review process.
Cover letter
The corresponding Author shall write a cover letter to the Managing Editor indicating intent to publish with the journal.
Ethical Approval
Any empirical study must have ethical approval.

Manipulation of Citation/Falsification of Data
Any evidence of manipulation of citations or falsification of data by authors shall lead to the rejection of manuscripts containing such materials at any point in the editorial process. Thereafter, the Editors shall not entertain any further communication with authors of the articles and/or their representatives.
Multiple Authorship
Manuscripts with one or more authors are welcome. If there is more than one author, the first name listed shall be the lead author and (s)he shall be the corresponding author, unless otherwise stated.
Grievance
- IJMGS is under no obligation to publish any manuscript submitted to it. Publication is strictly at the discretion of the Editors and it is understood that manuscripts submitted to IJMGS have not been similarly submitted to any other outlet for publication (or consideration for publication). Authors with grievances may raise them during the editorial processes and the Managing Editor reserves the right to terminate editorial processes, end the grievance and inform the complainants accordingly.
- By signing-up to publish their papers in IJMGS, authors give up their copyright to the journal and shall not enter into any litigation with it. The decision of the Editors to publish or reject any manuscript (before, during and after editorial processes) is final.
- Evidence of any practice deemed unethical by the Editors will result in the rejection of any manuscript and appeals shall not be entertained.
- Post-publication Commentary: The Editors shall welcome and publish critiques and debates
on published articles which are considered methodical and substantive.
Access to IJMGS
- Authors (or lead authors in case of multiple authorships) shall receive a
free hard copy of the journal in which their articles appear. All other persons may freely
access any article published in any issue IJMGS through its website. All articles are - Free copies of IJMGS are routinely sent to libraries in Nigerian universities.
- Enquiries for free subscription should be sent to the Managing Editor.
Advertisement Policy
IJMGS is officially sponsored by CEMGS, NOUN, and shall not entertain any advertisement (other than official announcements authorised by CEMGS).
IJMGS Policy on use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI)
- To avoid the unethical use or abuse of GenAI, the following guidelines should be strictly observed. Please note that the Editors reserve the right to reject any manuscript that fails to meet these guidelines and are not under obligation to entertain further correspondence in such matters.
- To ensure transparency and promote confidence between authors, readers, reviewers and editors as well as to satisfy the conditions for use of the technology, authors are required to disclose the use of GenAI. The Editors will include a statement to this effect in the published work.
- GenAI cannot be listed as an author or co-author and cannot be liable for the content of the work.
- The use of GenAI shall be restricted to the improvement of readability and language. In no circumstance shall GenAI replace the authors’ scientific insights, conclusions and recommendations. In spite of the use of GenAI, authors are responsible and accountable for their works.
- GenAI may be used in further clarifying the research design and methodological data provided these are clearly acknowledged and provable.
- Images or figures created or modified (or enhanced) by GenAI are not permissible.
- For ethical reasons, reviewers shall not upload manuscripts or their reports into an AI tool.
