The journal is funded by the publisher Kenya Association of Physicians and advertisements.
Subscription information
Hard copies are mainly distributed free of charge to members of Kenya Association of Physicians who are the publishers of the journal. Non-members are charged an annual subscription of US$15.
Peer Review
The journal uses double blind peer review process in its review system where two reviewers are requested to give their opinion within 2-4 weeks. All manuscripts are blinded to avoid any sought of bias and to ensure that the published work is of high quality and would add to the existing knowledge in the various fields of general medicine. Acceptance for each manuscript is on the basis of its originality, clarity of presentation and use of relevant references. A manuscript is usually subjected to several reviews and resubmissions before it is eventually accepted for publication or rejected based on the final advice by the editorial board. Authors submit articles on the understanding that the work submitted has not been submitted to any other journal. Authors must declare this on submission of manuscripts. The journal’s policy is to communicate to the authors the verdict of the reviewers within two months from the date of manuscript submission.

This journal publishes two issues a year in one volume.
