Author Guidelines

The Lagos Historical Review welcomes scholarly submissions on any aspect of history. Manuscripts must not exceed 25 pages in length or 8000 words including footnotes. Footnotes should be grouped together at the end of the paper. The style of the text and footnotes should be based on the Chicago Manual of Style, 14th Edition, 1993. Submissions can be made by sending a word processing computer file in MS Word format by e-mail to sarlek@yahoo.com, or by mailing three paper copies to the Editorial Office. Authors should keep a computer file version of their manuscript, as Lagos Historical Review will require a disk version upon acceptance for publication. All articles submitted for publication in the journal should use the British mode of spelling (not American). Submission of a manuscript implies that it has not previously been published, and that it is not currently on offer to another publisher. A letter confirming this should accompany all manuscripts. A rejected manuscript will not be returned to the author. The articles in Lagos Historical Review do not represent the views of the Department of History, University of Lagos.
