Peer review
Africa Habitat Review (AHR) operates a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure the quality, originality, and scholarly integrity of published work. All submitted manuscripts are first screened by the editorial team for relevance to the journal’s scope, originality, and compliance with submission requirements. Manuscripts that pass this initial assessment are subjected to plagiarism checks and then reviewed by at least two independent experts in the relevant field. Reviewers evaluate submissions on the basis of academic merit, methodological rigour, clarity of argument, ethical standards, and contribution to knowledge in the built environment. Based on the reviewers’ reports, the Editor makes a decision to accept the manuscript, request minor or major revisions, or reject it. Authors are provided with anonymised reviewer feedback, and revised manuscripts may be re-reviewed before a final publication decision is made.
