Peer review

ChemClass Journal operates a double-blind peer-review policy, using at least two reviewers per article. The process begins with confirmation that a submission complies with the Journal's submission guidelines and format. If there is non-conformity, the article is sent back for revision. When an article fully meets the submission guidelines and format, at least two independent Peer Reviewers, who are experts in the field, are selected and sent the article (without the title page and other details that may identify the original authors). Usually, Peer Reviewers are given two weeks to respond, but in practice they rarely do so within that period. Extensions are granted twice, for a maximum of 1 week at each stage. On average, the peer review process takes 4 weeks. Upon receipt of the review reports, the Editor-in-Chief communicates the final decision to the authors based on the reviewers' comments. If a revision is required, the authors are requested to submit the revision within 2 weeks (minor) or 4 weeks (major), along with a rebuttal letter. Thereafter, the Editor-in-Chief decides whether the article is sent back to the reviewers or whether the responses are satisfactory for acceptance. If it goes back to the reviewers, the cycle is repeated until the manuscript is accepted or rejected, as the case may be. For all accepted articles, the Editor-in-Chief compiles and approves them for publication.
