Manuscript preparation:

Manuscripts should be submitted with a covering letter stating that 1) the paper is not under consideration elsewhere, 2) none of the paper's contents have been previously published and 3) all authors have read and approved the manuscript.  The corresponding author (name, address, telephone, fax) should be specified in the covering letter.  All editorial communication will be sent to this author.

Length of Article:

Because of printed page limitations, the editors prefer that the article should not exceed 5000 words including. references and legends.  Illustrations and tables should be limited to those necessary to highlight key data.

Plan of Article Outlay:

Articles sent for publication must be typewritten or word-processed with double spacing, with a 3-cm margin on all sides (8 cm at bottom of the title page).  Please use a standard laser printer 12 font if possible.  

All articles must have within them the following subheadings written in the capital: Introduction, Materials (or Patients) and Methods, Results, Discussion, References.  The manuscript should be arranged as follows:

Title page, Abstract, Keywords (3-6), Introduction, Materials and Methods, ethical approval, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgments, References, Tables, Figures and Figure legends.

Title Page:

The title of the article should be as concise as possible with no abbreviations and should be in capital letters.  This should be followed by the surname of authors preceded by their full first name and middle initials and if possible followed by standard abbreviations of their degrees. At the footnote of the first page the department(s) or center(s) where the work was performed as well the name and address of the corresponding author should be written.  Under the heading "Address for Correspondence", give the full name and complete postal address of the author to whom communications, printers proofs or reprint requests should be sent.  Also provide telephone and fax numbers and E-mail address, if possible.

Abstract:

Articles should be preceded by an Abstract which should include a problem statement, argument, findings as well conclusion. The Abstract must be not more than 250 words and should be more comprehensive than a summary which will not be required. If abbreviations are used they should be preceded by the full word(s) when mentioned for the first time; this should be between brackets. e.g. Bile Duct (BD)

Key Words (3-6) at the end of the abstract are needed.

References:

The number of references consecutively in the order in which they are first mentioned in the text. References appearing for the first time in tables and figures must be numbered sequences with those cited in the text in where the table or figure is mentioned. References are identified by Arabic numerals in parentheses.

The style of references should be as follows:

a) For Journal articles: Surname and initials of author(s), year of publication, the name of Journal, volume, numbers of page

b) For books: Surname and initials of author(s), year of first,), city, publishing house preceded by Pbl., the page as a specific reference.

Table: Each table should be typed on a separate page and should supplement, not duplicate information in the text. Tables should be laid as simple as possible. Corn Each table must have it precise heading and should be listed in numerical order

Illustrations: Photographs and radiographs should be on glossy prints, clear and of a good quality

All figures should be numbered in the text, and legends must accompany a photograph and name of the author (s) should be indicated tightly in pencil on the back.

All Editorial communications should be to Chief editor, Professor Dr. Eman Helal Professor of Physiology, Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt.

Manuscripts are subjected to editorial modification to bring them into the style of this journal.' Each article is sent to two consultants to assess the scientific standard of the journal before considering its acceptance to publication. Only papers which conform with the journal style are accepted for publication. Failure to submit manuscripts in the journal style may lead to unnecessary delay in publication. Also, plagiarism will be done.

Fees:

Fee (processing, submission): Egyptians: 1100 LE (500 then 600 when accepted), Others: 170 $ (70 then 100 when accepted)-in some cases it may be free for some cases after approval of editorial board.  

Copyright policy

The journal allows the author(s) to hold the copyright, and to retain publishing rights without any restrictions.

Double-Blind Peer Review:

This journal uses a double-blind review, which means that both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa, throughout the review process.  Each paper review by two reviewers.
