1. Scope and Aims of the Journal
JEERESD is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to the dissemination of
high-quality research in the fields of:

  • Environmental education
  • Environmental sciences and management
  • Sustainable development
  • Climate change, biodiversity, and ecosystems
  • One Health and environmental health
  • Environmental policy, governance, and ethics
  • Socio-economic dimensions of sustainability
  • Interdisciplinary and applied environmental research

The journal places particular emphasis on Africa-focused studies, while welcoming contributions
from all regions of the world.

2. Types of Manuscripts Accepted
JEERESD accepts the following manuscript categories:

  • Original Research Articles
  • Review Articles
  • Short Communications
  • Case Studies
  • Policy and Practice Papers

All submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.

3. Language

  • Manuscripts must be written in clear and grammatically correct English.
  • Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to seek professional language
    editing prior to submission.

4. Manuscript Preparation
4.1 General Formatting

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
  • Font: Times New Roman
  • Font size: 12 pt
  • Line spacing: 1.5
  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
  • Pages must be numbered consecutively

4.2 Structure of the Manuscript
Manuscripts should be arranged in the following order:

  1. Title Page
  2. Abstract
  3. Keywords
  4. Introduction
  5. Materials and Methods
  6. Results
  7. Discussion
  8. Conclusion
  9. Acknowledgements (if applicable)
  10. Funding Statement
  11. Conflict of Interest Statement
  12. References

4.3 Title Page
The title page must include:

  • Concise and informative article title
  • Full names of all authors
  • Institutional affiliations (department, institution, city, country)
  • Corresponding author’s e-mail address

4.4 Abstract and Keywords

  • • Abstract length: 150–250 words
  • The abstract should briefly state:
    o Background
    o Objectives
    o Methods
    o Key results
    o Main conclusions
  • Provide 3–6 keywords immediately after the abstract.

5. Tables, Figures, and Illustrations

  • Tables and figures must be clearly numbered and cited in the text.
  • Each table and figure should have a descriptive caption.
  • Figures must be of high resolution.
  • Authors are responsible for obtaining permission for any copyrighted material.

6. Referencing Style

  • JEERESD uses the APA referencing style.
  • References must be accurate and complete.
  • DOI numbers should be included where available.

7. Ethical Standards
7.1 Research Ethics

  • Studies involving humans or animals must comply with ethical standards and include
    appropriate approval statements.
  • Authors must ensure originality and avoid plagiarism.

7.2 Plagiarism Policy

  • All manuscripts are screened for plagiarism.
  • Manuscripts with significant plagiarism will be rejected outright.

8. Peer-Review Process

  • JEERESD operates a double-blind peer-review system.
  • Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers.
  • Editorial decisions are based solely on scientific merit, originality, and relevance.

9. Copyright and Licensing

  • Copyright remains with the author(s).
  • Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY), allowing
    unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction, provided proper attribution is given.

10. Article Processing Charges (APCs)

  • JEERESD is an open-access journal.
  • APCs are charged only after acceptance (100USD).
  • Fees cover editorial processing, peer review management, copyediting, typesetting, online
    hosting, and long-term archiving.
  • Fee waivers or reductions may be granted on a case-by-case basis, particularly for authors
    from low-income countries or without funding.
