Cryptocurrency and Students' Engagement on Academic Study: A Comprehensive Review
Abstract
This paper aims to examine the extent to which cryptocurrency and mining activities affect students' ability to sustain productive academic study. Existing literature was reviewed from recent studies, and broader implications were discussed. By understanding these dynamics, educators and policymakers can better support students in navigating the complexities of their academic and personal lives. The influence of cryptocurrency on students' study habits is multifaceted. While there are clear benefits in terms of enhanced financial literacy and technological skills, the potential for distraction, financial stress, and gambling-like behaviour poses significant challenges. Educational institutions and policymakers need to be aware of these dynamics and consider integrating cryptocurrency education into the curriculum to help students navigate this complex landscape responsibly
