Aims and Scope

Uirtus is an international, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing excellence in the arts and humanities, with a particular focus on literature, linguistics, cultural studies, and literary criticism. Established to uphold the tradition of academic and scientific excellence that has distinguished universities since the 10th century, the journal publishes rigorously researched and well-crafted scholarly articles that deepen understanding of language, texts, cultures, and their interconnections. It provides a platform for original contributions and welcomes interdisciplinary approaches that illuminate human society, expression, and cultural production. The journal publishes three issues annually – in April, August, and December – and accepts submissions in both English and French. Each issue features articles grounded in robust research methodologies and theoretical frameworks, especially those addressing literary analysis, language studies, discourse, interpretation, representation, and cultural dynamics. Through its open-access model, Uirtus makes high-quality scholarship freely available to a global readership, thereby fostering scholarly exchange and the wider dissemination of knowledge in the humanities. Uirtus is committed to maintaining the highest standards of peer review, ensuring that every submission undergoes thorough evaluation by specialists in the relevant field. The journal particularly encourages submissions that engage critically with literary texts, linguistic phenomena, cultural practices, and theoretical debates in the humanities. By promoting innovative scholarship and fresh perspectives, Uirtus seeks to contribute meaningfully to contemporary academic dialogue in literature, linguistics, cultural studies, and literary criticism.
