We set the journal up to encourage young scientists from Egypt and other developing countries in publishing. Our aim was always to get an Impact Factor, but now under the current rules we would have to double our output of papers per issue. This would involve an unacceptable level of time and effort without paid help, which can only come from author charges. Thus reluctantly we have decided that the best course of action is to stop publication. We thank all authors who have trusted us with their papers, and all reviewers who have devoted their time to help safeguard the journal's standards.

Volume 16 will therefore be the last.

The scope of the journal also includes biochemical genetics with an emphasis on biological studies of enzymes and other protein deficiencies and immunogenetics. The Ethiopian Journal of Human Rights (EJHR) is a multidisciplinary journal published by the Center for Human Rights, Addis Ababa University (CHR, AAU). The objectives of the EJHR include the promotion of knowledge and dialogue on issues of human rights as a multidisciplinary theme. Furthermore, it envisions promoting human rights values including, but not limited to, understanding, tolerance, and participation.

All research articles published in the journal undergo rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and they must be original contributions that are not under consideration for any other publication.
